SWAT Elite Troops hits North America

Early in December of ‘07, Vivendi Games Mobile released SWAT Elite Troops throughout Europe. Arjan at the Mobile Games Blog has posted that the game has finally reached North America. In the game, which is based on a popular PC series, player lead a team of three elite SWAT units through 15 missions. The game’s biggest draw is the “Instant Tactical Decision” system which require split second decisions by the player.

Vivendi Games launches The Spiderwick Chronicles

Vivendi Games Mobile has announced the launch of The Spiderwick Chronicles, based on the upcoming movie of the same name. Players are thrust into the world of the Spiderwick film, following along as the siblings Jared, Simon, and Mallory are pulled into a fantasy world by a mysterious book. Players can control up to five different characters, each with their own special abilities to aid in solving puzzles and riddles.

Vivendi Games announces 2008 lineup

Vivendi Games Mobile has announced the lineup of game they’ll be releasing in the first half of 2008.

First up is Celebrity Hangman, which allows users write their own pop-culture-themed word lists and submit then to Vivendi for other users to download, follow by a new multiplayer dart sim called Pub Darts 180.

Sierra announces Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust

Sierra has announced Box Office Bust, a new game in the long running Leisure Suit Larry series, which follows the lovable Larry Laffer and his quest for for love.

In Box Office Bust, Larry heads to Hollywood to work for his uncle’s movie studio, doing odd jobs and trying to uncover a spy from another studio. The open-ended adventure game will features exploration, platforming, racing, and puzzle-solving elements in its many missions.

Sierra is developing the game for consoles and the PC, while Vivendi Games Mobile will be developing a mobile port. There is not yet much information about the mobile version of the game.

Vivendi and Nokia team up

Vivendi Games Mobile has announced that some of their titles will be appearing on Nokia’s Download! service and Nokia Catalogues.

Vivendi has already pledged to offer titles on Nokia’s N-Gage platform and this announcement further strengthens the relationship between the two companies. Titles from franchises such as Crash Bandicoot, Leisure Suit Larry and Spyro will be appearing on Download!.

The Incredible Machine a hit at 2007 VGA


Vivendi Games Mobile’s The Incredible Machine was a hit at Spike TV’s 2007 Video Game Awards.

The puzzle game, which was based off a classic PC title, walked away with the award for Best Casual Mobile Game as well as a nomination for Mobile Game of the Year. Vivendi president Paul Maglione said the company was “extremely honored” to receive the award and “thrilled that such an established organization is recognizing the importance and popularity of mobile games.”

Vivendi releases SWAT Elite Troops

Vivendi Games Mobile has announced the release of SWAT Elite Troops.

Based on a PC franchise, SWAT Elite Troops is an action game with an isometric view where players must lead a team of three officers. It features an “Instant Tactical Decision” system that require split-second decisions by gamers, as well as 15 crisis scenarios.

Vivendi launches Urban Attack

Vivendi Games Mobile has announced the release of Urban Attack.

Originally announced back in October, Urban Attack is set in 2046 puts and players in control of Yuri, a covert operative in the US under the direction of the mob-controlled Russian government. The 3D FPS game features 60 different shooting phases, 100 character animations, and 14 different enemy behaviors, as well as a number of side-quests, four unique environments, and more. I-play has gone to great lengths to make the game playable on over 400 handsets.

Vivendi releases The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night

Vivendi Games Mobile has announced the launch of The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night, which won the award for the Best Mobile Video Game at the Video Game Festival in Montreuil, France last September.

Players take control of Spyro, the famous purple dragon, and lead him through 13 platforming levels to collect four elemental powers. The powers will allow him to halt the resurrection of the Dark Master.

“Eternal Night picks up where the last game, A New Beginning, left off with an exciting new quest, gameplay and rich graphics,” said Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile. “Fans of the adored purple dragon and anyone looking for a new adventure will be in for quite a treat as Spyro has an arsenal of new advanced powers to defeat the enemy bosses.”

The game is available now throughout Europe and will be available in North America in November.

Vivendi releases Crash of the Titans

Vivendi Games Mobile has announced the release of Crash of the Titans, the latest game in the long running Crash Bandicoot franchise.

The game features the familiar Crash Bandicoot armed with a host of new fighting abilities. He’ll have to use them all to beat his arch nemeses, Neo and Nina Cortex, who are trying to mutate the local fauna into huge, titanic creatures. The game also allows Crash to hijack the minds of some of these titans and control their actions.

“Having sold more than 40 million units worldwide, the Crash Bandicoot franchise is one of the most successful of all time across all platforms, and we are pleased to bring back Crash Bandicoot to mobile in an all-new epic adventure,” said Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile. “Players will enjoy the exciting new gameplay features including advanced acrobatic combat, punches, flying kicks, multiple attacks and special counter-moves.”

The game is available now throughout Europe and will be available in North America this November.
