The Sims Bowling available for the iPod

Electronic Arts has announced the availability of The Sims Bowling for the iPod, which marks the first time the long-running franchise has appeared on the device.

Similar to its mobile phone counterpart, The Sims Bowling allows players to create a sim and then take him or her to the lanes. Their greatest hope is to become the star of the local bowling alley. However, there’s more to the game than just bowling: your progress on the lane ears your sim Simoleons that can be used to buy skill-enhancing items such as new balls, new gloves, wax, and more.

“iPod is an extremely rewarding platform on which to develop games that are beautiful and fun to play,” said Travis Boatman, vice president of worldwide studios for EA Mobile. “The Sims Bowling is a game that captures the lifestyle-oriented nature of The Sims, while delivering a meticulously crafted bowling game for the iPod.”

The game is available from the iTunes store for $4.99.

Electronic Arts releases The Sims Bowling

Electronic Arts has announced that they have released sports game The Sims Bowling.

Players can create a Sim and then take it to the lanes to to bowl away. As you increase your bowling skills your sim will become more popular, but as popularity increases the game becomes more difficult. There are three game modes: Classic, Spare-O-Thon and Strike-O-Thon, each with boasting impressive physics and a simple, one-handed control scheme.

”With The Sims Bowling, mobile gamers and existing fans of the franchise can now enjoy the fun of taking their Sims to the bowling alley to show off their skills as they climb up or slide down the popularity ladder,” said Javier Ferreira, VP of European Publishing at EA Mobile. ”The game is accessible and great fun for everyone and available exclusively for mobile phones.”

The game is available now on major networks in Europe and will roll out soon for North American gamers.
