Tag Games has announced that their game Dead Water will be hitting North America courtesy of Oasys Mobile, rebranded as Houdini: Escape from Dead Water.
Originally a platformer where players escape from a sinking ship, the game is being rebranded with the Houdini license. Paul Farley, the managing director of Tag Games, called it a “great fit” for the license due to the theme and game-play, as well as Houdini and his controversial death being back in the news. The game was originally released in Europe earlier this year to wide acclaim.
“We’re delighted to be working with Oasys to release Houdini: Escape From Dead Water to the American market,” said Farley. “We’ve had a great response to the game throughout Europe and we believe its combination of simple, fun gameplay and the unique setting of a sinking ship–with the constantly rising water, will prove just as popular with an American audience.”
The game is scheduled for release in Q3 of this year.
The Mobile Games and Gaming Blog has posted a new addition to its company spotlight series. Tag Games’ Paul Farley, who is Managing Director at the company, spoke to Arjan regarding this relatively new company.
