Back from the holidays - thanks for sticking around

Well I’m back from the holidays. I’ve been in upstate New York with family for the past week so things have been really lackluster on QB. That’s okay though because the Internet is fairly dead around this time of year. Is anyone following World Junior Hockey? Latvia is playing Sweden right now in my hometown.

iPhone MMS coming to Sweden and hopefully the world

Coming to Sweden

MacWorld has confirmed with the Swedish-Finnish carrier Telia is developing an MMS-enabling app for the iPhone. The app will hit the market in the next two months. Although the app is launching first in Sweden, it should be only a matter of time until it hits North American markets. Hopefully this becomes a trend and some other foreign market develops copy&paste as well as full landscape keyboard support. Once all of that trickles over to us, we’ll have iPhone’s with virtually nothing to complain about. Scratch that, we love complaining.

Sony Ericsson’s PlayNow Arena offering 1 million DRM-free songs on Monday

Sony Ericsson\'s PlayNow

On August 25th, Sony Ericsson wil be launching PlayNow Arena, its media download site. On the day of the launch, the site will be offering 1 million, DRM-free songs (ramping up to 5 million) from Sony BMG, Warner Music, and EMI. It will also offer games, ringtones, applications, and themes for your mobile. Prices are going to be comparable to iTunes at $0.99 / €0.99 per song except for in Sweden where songs will cost a little more, close to $1.50 USD. We’re anxious to see how the download service does and I’m sure the launch day will be a good indicator of future success.
