Glu and Sega have announced that they are extending their long-standing partnership, which has resulted mobile versions of games such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Monkey Ball, and Virtua Tennis.
This news follows a similar announcement made at the beginning of the year, which resulted in Glu publishing titles using Sega IP such as Football Manager Quiz, Total War, and Wonderboy.
“Glu has been a valuable partner for us over the last two years in bringing key Sega titles to a vast audience of mobile gamers,†said Alan Pritchard, Managing Director of Europe North at Sega. “Our extended partnership based on Sega’s brands and licences and Glu’s mobile expertise, will allow us to continue to bring great games to the consumer on the mobile platform.â€
The new agreement will allow mobile gamers to see titles such as Sonic the Hedgehog 2, due out this month, as well as Golden Compass and Sega Rally.
Sega has announced that they have hired former Electronic Arts exec Linda Chaplin as vice president of their mobile division,
European developer Universomo has inked a deal with Sega to develop titles based on some of their licenses.
