Samsung Armani M7500 has officially launched

he new Samsung Armani M7500 aka the Night Effect is now available for sale in the UK. The device is an upgrade from the previous P520 yet it may seem to be somewhat downgraded, having favored a slim candybar to the earlier device’s touchscreen.

Although this device isn’t about to blow you away with features and innovation, it appeals to an Armani principle of simplicity. When I showed this phone to a designer friend of mine, he said it looks awesome and he would definitely buy it. It was then that I realized that fashion designers don’t care about playing accelerometer based games on their phone and prefer sleek to geek.

Mobile fuel cell charger gives any phone 10 times more juice

We’ve done a lot of posting about iPhone batteries on this site because the iPhone is in desperate need of more juice, constantly. Now you can charge any phone with the Mobion fuel cell charger. This baby will give you up to ten times the original battery life on a single charge. It’s powered by a 100% methanol fuel-based chip that’s covered on all sides with 110 patents of intellectual property. The device is about the size of an external hard drive that fits in the palm of your hand. The company that develops the product, MTI MicroFuel, are said to be running out of money, which has been coming from Samsung, but hopefully this product makes it to the market. I’m sure it would be a hit.

MySpace Mobile to offer free streaming video to mobile

Myspace Mobile now offers streaming video, bother user-gen and branded, to mobile. The service will be available for the BlackBerry Bold, Palm, Motorola Voyager, Nokia N95 and the Samsung Instinct. Notice no iPhone? That’s because the iPhone uses a different downloading method that MySpace opted out of in favor of a mobile ubiquitous downloading method.

AT&T’s Samsung Eternity user guide shots leaked

Specs

The AT&T Samsung Eternity is going to be a great device because it packs quad-band GSM / dual-band HSDPA support, a 3-megapixel camera, GPS with AT&T Navigator, Media FLO, Bluetooth 2.0, a microSD expansion slot, Widgets and a Mobile TV player. The mobile TV player is one of the reasons I love Korean devices coming to North America because the saturation of DMB means their hardware usually supports this sort of rich media. Expect the device to drop soon because the shots from the user guide, such as the one above, have been leaking. Also, it dropped WinMo so the UI is probably nicer.

Pixon, INNOV8, KC910, C905 - 8MP camera phone comparison

A while back we posted a great comparison piece that a Russian site put together comparing two 8 MP camera phones. GSMArena has done an incredible job and topped that post by comparing a whopping 4 8MP camera phones! The article breaks down which is the best 8MP camera phone between the LG KC910, the Samsung M8800 Pixon, the Sony Ericsson C905, and the Samsung INNOV8.

The review is massive at 7 pages but I’ll help you and spoil the whole thing with a quick summary:

Steve Ballmer mocks Android and praises Samsung T*Omnia

Korean girl with Samsung Omnia

Last month, Steve Ballmer went to the UK just to mock Android and this month he traveled to Korea to praise the new Samsung T*Omnia. Just to recap, the T*Omnia is the Korea update of the Samsung Omnia released in the US.

Ballmer said that the T*Omnia is “at the forefront of this new generation of mobile devices,” and he’s pleased to see how it “brings together communications, productivity, multimedia, and entertainment in a way that meets the needs of both consumers and mobile professionals.”

Personally, I think he’s just a huge fan of anything Windows Mobile. In any case, expect the T*Omnia to start selling from SK Telecom on November 20.

Samsung Omnia upgraded and renamed for SK Telekom

samsung-tomnia

The Samsung Omnia has received some upgrades for its journey to Korea to be sold under SK Telekom. The upgrades include a 3.3-inch 480 x 800 WVGA touchscreen, as well as support for Satellite DMB for mobile TV. The phone will keep some of its original specs such as being available in 4GB and 16GB models, both with expandable memory via microSD card slots.

Also part of the move to Korea, the Omnia will be renamed the T*Omnia. I’m not sure why the name change but there is clearly some Korean marketing at work.

Samsung Epix hits the spotlight with video and review

Seems like today the spotlight is on the Samsung Epix - with reviews and videos all around. Above - Pocketnow’s unboxing video.

According to WM Experts, the processor on the Epix is awesome, but its biggest weakness is its touch screen which they claim to lack the smoothness and efficiency seen on other WinMo devices.

Do you have a BlackJack? If so, I’d love to hear if the Epix appeals to you or if you’ll sit this one out and wait for the next BlackJack.

LG KC910 Renoir vs the Samsung Pixon M8800

Comparing camera phones

Mobile@Mail.Ru put together great comparison shots of the LG Renoir vs the Samsung Pixon. Both phones are 8 MP camera phones and if you’re unsure which one you should buy, these comparisons should help you make up your mind.

Spec-wise, the Renoir is the better camera phone. According to BGR, “the Renoir offers a Schneider-Kreuznach Lens and a Xenon flash which on paper (and in practice) outperforms the cheap plastic lens and dual LED flash of the Pixon. The Renoir also has an active autofocus which the reviewer deems superior to the Pixon’s passive autofocus.”

Samsung Soul Limited Edition renamed Black & Gold

Samsung Black and Gold

This is the Limited Edition Samsung Soul has been renamed simply the Black & Gold. It’s got a nice slider form to it but the black and gold colors just seem a little tacky to me. I can see someone whose into bling enjoying this phone. The phone has decent specs with a 5-megapixel camera, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and OLED-equipped d-pad. The Limited Edition is only $40 more than the original.
