Canada has the 2nd best iPhone reception on the planet

A recent study by Wired.com took 2,636 iPhone 3G owners from around the world and compared their download speeds. European T-Mobile users had the fastest average download speeds of 1,822 Kbps. Canadians came in second place with “average download speeds of roughly 990 Kbps”. Thanks Rogers!

We’ve heard from scattered sources that the BlackBerry Bold isn’t picking up 3G quite as well as it should be. The delayed Rogers and AT&T launch could be possibly be a result of the rough performance.

“We had a few occasional 3G signal dropping troubles at some locations especially on high-rises building streets & on our 34th floor (EDGE picked up immediately but slower internet speeds),”

Wired recently wrote an article called “What’s Wrong With the 3G in iPhone 3G?” It’s a great article that details the poor reception on the iPhone 3G, specifically on the AT&T network. This leads us to some obvious questions: Is it something to do with the 3G chipset? Is it specific to the AT&T network?

First, we’ll breakdown Wired’s roundup of opinions surrounding the issue, then I’m hoping QuicklyBored readers will add their own anecdotes about the iPhone 3G’s reception.
