QuicklyBored Podcast: Wes Tam, Magmic, Eagle Eye and mobile content distribution

Here is the QuicklyBored Podcast with Wes Tam of Magmic that I said would be up yesterday but is instead up today. Sorry the quality is so bad but it’s hard to keep 20 minutes under 1GB. I sat down with Wes to primarily talk about mobile content distribution and how it pertains to the various platforms: iPhone, BlackBerry and WinMo. We also talked about Magmic’s upcoming game based on the Hollywood movie Eagle Eye.

QuicklyBored Podcast up tomorrow - Talking mobile content distribution Diggnation style

Eagle Eye the movie

We just finished recording a Podcast with Wes Tam of Magmic. The podcast was Diggnation style in the sense that we (Wes, Doug of BlackBerry Cool and I) sat on a couch chatting about things we like to chat about. I’m just editing the video now so expect it by tomorrow. In the podcast, we talk about Android vs iPhone vs BlackBerry mobile content distribution models and Magmic’s upcoming game Eagle Eye, based on the movie of course. Stay tuned!

The QuicklyBored Podcast - Episode 18 - July 16, 2007: IMGA/Maarten Noyons

IMGA
Following hot on the heels of the IMGA’s call for entries, QB got the chance to sit down (via Skype) and chat with Maarten Noyons, Managing Director of the International Mobile Gaming Awards. Lean back and enjoy as Douglas “Tron” Soltys and Mr. Noyons discuss the growth of the IMGA, industry consolidation, and what’s going on in Europe and Asia. Post-interview, glisten in shock and awe as Tron and Wes Tam, QB’s developer extraordinaire, get into a heated debate as to whether or not an industry event like the International Mobile Gaming Awards is even worth-while.

The QuicklyBored Podcast - Episode 14 - March 30, 2007: The GDC Mobile Experience

We’ve been getting great feedback for the constant stream of GDC Video that’s been flowing through QB lately, so we thought we’d tie it all together into a nice neat little package for you. Contained within this special video podcast are highlights from our previous videos, as well as a couple new treats that you haven’t seen yet. Enjoy!

The QuicklyBored Podcast - Episode 13 - March 8, 2007: GDC 2007 Day Two

GDC Day 2
This one we’re really proud of. Fresh off a podcast marred by audio problems and the drunkenness of the QB staff, we rebound with an hour-long slugfest with Robert Tercek, GDC Mobile’s day two keynote speaker.

Listen as we postmortem GDC Mobile, bitch about porting and Flash Lite and passionately debate the essence of mobile game design. Pay special attention to how well Rob deftly navigates our malnourished and overtired corpses to provide interesting audio material. If there was ever a time to join the QB podcast bandwagon, it’s now.

The QuicklyBored Podcast - Episode 12 - March 7, 2007: GDC 2007 Day One

GDC Day 1
Wow, after major technical hurdles and a lack of good wi-fi, we finally get our first GDC podcast up. Wes and I had a chance to sit down with Mike Yuen of Qualcomm and Jefferson Valadares of Sumea to talk about Trip Hawkins, Nokia’s N-Gage platform, what we think of GDC Mobile, and who works for the smaller company.

Special Note: We totally dropped the ball recording this one, and as a result, Jeff’s supple and sensitive voice doesn’t come through very well. Sorry buddy! Next time, say it loud and proud like Mike!

The QuicklyBored Podcast - Episode 9 - December 14,2006: One Thumb Gaming, 3G + 3D = Not Impressed.

Thumbs up
This is the kind of podcast that tears you apart. We bid a fond farewell to Kyle (pictured above) this week, who is moving to Israel for greener and more explosive pastures. On the other hand, we replace him with Helios, mobile game developer extraordinaire who actually knows what he’s talking about. KayWhy who?
