Ozura games available in Vietnam

Mobile in VietnamOzura continues to expand the reach of their games, signing a distribution deal with Vinamob to get their games to some operators in Vietnam. They signed deals with Zingy and Nemodigm last year. Gamers in Vietnam can now snag copies of Beijing 2008, Music Revolution, Cubix, and more games from a number of operators, including Viettel Mobile, Mobifone, and Vinaphone.

Ozura’s Miss Maxgames winner announced

Deborah Tan has won the Miss Maxgames contest run by Ozura Mobile and Maxis Communications Berhad, reports Mobile Games Blog.

The search for Miss Maxgames involved 15 female contestants who were shortlisted from across the country of Singapore. The chosen 15 then battled it out onstage, playing The Duel Online and Antopia. Deborah Tan won the contest and walked away with a Playstation 3.

“These highly rated games were specially selected for the Miss MaxGames final live tournament as they present exciting and competitive battle opportunities,” said Ozura CEO Lion Peh. “Games such as The Duel Online require strategic planning and lots of practice while Antopia tests players on individual skill, consistency and timing.”

Deborah Tan was accompanied by the MaxGirls Teh Jenni, Kammy Aw and Chrysalis Chea. Together, the four comprise the MaxGirls All-Star Team and have been awarded a contract with Ozura worth RM15,000 for the year.

Ozura releases Come On Baby, the world’s first mobile infant game

Ozura Mobile has announced the release of Come On Baby, an infant simulation game.

Come On Baby allows gamers to take on raising an infant, with diaper changing, feeding time and more. Players take on the role of Tiffany as she nurses babies and earns money to build her business. The better she performs, the higher her pay, allowing her to buy better diapers and nursing facilities. There are two games mode: Tiffany’s career, which is level-based and gives players time limits and scoring levels, and Endless shift, which removes time limits and allows players to compete by uploading high scores.

The game is available on all of Ozura’s mobile community gaming portals which run on FunlogiX.

Ozura Mobile releases WWD and The Balinese Princess

Ozura mobile has announced the release of two games, World Wrestling Demolition and The Balinese Princess.

WWD is an action game where featuring the side-on view of most 2D fighting games and available on a wide variety of phones.

The Balinese Princess is a puzzle game that tells the tale of Dewa Wayan, an emissary from the Emperor who has been sent to ask Ida Ayu, the princess of Mount Ophir, for her hand in marriage. Unfortunately, Dewa gradually finds himself lost in the mountain and must escape.

Both games are available on all of Ozura’s community mobile portals that run on their FunLogiX platform.

Ozura and Nemodigm sign distribution deal

Ozura Mobile has signed a deal with Korean distributor Nemodigm.

Under the agreement, Nemodigm will distribute Ozura’s titles through their network of partners, reaching 139 million subscribers in South Korea and Japan. Recent statistics indicate that Japan alone is expected to reach 106 mobile subscribers by 2009, and that over 70% of the current subscribers play a mobile game more than once a week. South Korea doesn’t lag behind, with game revenue expected to exceed $2 billion this year, and 4.5 million game downloads per month.

“Based on these statistics, the mobile games market in these regions is proven to be very active and has great potential to grow. We are pleased to collaborate with Nemodigm as part of our marketing efforts in extending our distribution networks. This partnership will indeed strengthen our presence in Asia Pacific,” said H.E. Mah, Ozura’s VP of marketing.

Maxis & Ozura on the hunt for Miss MaxGames

Ozura Mobile, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nextnation Communication, and Maxis Communication Berhad, Malaysia’s leading telecommunications provider have announced the search for “Miss MaxGames and the MaxGirls” (or MxG for short). Lion Peh, Ozura’s Chief Executive Officer said, “In the search for Miss MaxGames, we’re not only promoting the MaxGames community but simultaneously boosting interest and appeal among female gamers to participate and reveal their talents. We’re looking forward to a good response from both MaxGames members and non-members alike.”

The contest is divided into three rounds:
1. The first round requires contestants to send in their applications before the 4th of March, 2007. Contestants need to be between the ages of 18-25, include some self-portraits and a written profile.
2. Round 2 includes an interview process for short-listed candidates which tests them on gaming knowledge and personality.
3. The final 12 will make it to round 3, and will appear at the Game and Anime Festival at Sungai Wang Plaza which falls on the 16th of March till 18th of March 2007. The final 12 will play Ozura’s new hit games, Antopia and The Duel Online live. 5 of the highest scoring finalists will be awarded The MaxGirls (MxG) recognition and will move on to the final round to compete in The Duel Online the very next day. Whoever wins The Duel Online will get the Miss Maxgames 2007 crown.

The winner will sign a 1-year contract with MaxGames to be featured in Maxis upcoming road shows and other promotional activities.

Ozura releases Antopia and R.A.T.S

Ozura has announced the release of two new action games, reports Mobile Games Blog.
