I-play CEO David Gosen has announced that their acquisition by Oberon Media allows them to “virtually double” their development capacity, reports MobileIndustry.biz.
“Specifically, Oberon provides the necessary future funding for the business and significant distribution and content advantages - as well as bringing existing internal 2D and 3D mobile development capabilities, allowing the company to virtually double its internal development capacity,” said Gosen.
Gosen also went on to state that the company will see a slight shift of focus: “I-play is positioned today as the casual mobile games company, and it will continue its core offering of compelling games for the mass market across 2D and 3D - as well as complementing our casual roadmap with some more niche, edgier, console-type games to ensure we satisfy all gamers,” he said.
Oberon Media has announced that they have acquired all the assets of I-play, developer and publisher of a great many casual and more hardcore games.
Oberon Media, a casual games solution provider, announced today the acquisition of substantially all the assets of Blaze, a provider of mobile games and technologies.
