Nokia N96 comes to North America in Q4

The N96 has an official North American launch date

We finally have word from Nokia that North Americans can expect the N96 in Q4. The N96 is going to be a great follow up to the N95. It has localized 850/1900 HSDPA radios to go along with its GSM quad-band set, 2.8-inch QVGA display, 16GB of storage, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, WiFi, and assisted GPS. Not too shabby. The only thing the phone seems to be lacking is mobile TV or mediaFLO. For $895, it should have been included.

iPhone 3G launch hype - both real and manufactured

Indians are hype over iPhone launch

The excitement over the iPhone has been entirely genuine in North America and now India. People are lining up in droves to get their hands on the iPhone 3G. Check out the above picture. The Apple hype machine is hard at work.

On the other hand, Poland doesn’t seem to be playing into the hype and Orange has hired “dozens” of actors to line up at 20 stores around the country to “drum up interest.”

The Cell mobisode bought by Fox - Coming soon to North America

The Cell mobisode screen
Fox has recently bought the mobisode The Cell, a 20 x 2-minute drama series about a man who finds himself locked in a lawless prison with no idea of how or why he got there. He’s got a mobile phone with a stranger on the other end a la Phone Booth meets Prison Break.

One of the most annoying things about writing this article is that the website for this mobisode, www.thecell.tv, isn’t available to anyone in North America. Can someone from the UK send screenshots or something?
