Nokia Image Exchange now available for free

Nokia Image Exchange in now available in Nokia Beta Labs. The app is an always-on, always-connected, experimental image gallery that enables users to browse and share images with people they know. With all the camera phone pics going around, it makes sense for Nokia to develop this app. Also, their phones have the best cameras on them. It has been tested to work on the following devices: N95 (all versions), N85, N82, N81 (all models), E71, N76, N78 and Nokia 5320 XpressMusic (as well as many other 3.1 and 3.2 S60 devices). While it has been tested to either NOT work or have some issues on the following: N96, E90, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

How to get a carrier-subsidized BlackBerry Bold before you’re eligible for upgrade

Gimme the Bold! Gimme the Bold!

I am a definition gadget whore. I will sell out king and country for the latest in gizmos; I guess that makes me more of a gadget traitor.

Last summer around the iPhone craze I upgraded my high-end Sony Ericsson camera phone to the glorious Nokia N95 8GB. I wanted a device that was a real powerhouse feature-wise without making me look like an obvious iPhone turbo-nerd. Things have been going well for the device but I was starting to long for something with better text entry than the hardly-predictive T9. Who has ever used “shiv” in a text message, I don’t think I’ll ever know.

Nokia N96 to launch in UK in only 2 weeks

The Nokia N95, easily one of the best devices out on the market right now, is going to launch in the UK in 2 weeks. The device was not only the first to have a 5 MP camera but it also packs Dual ARM 9 264 MHz CPU hardware, EDGE, Wi-Fi, and Symbian OS 9.3.

Another great quality of the device, is that it supports N-Gage. N-Gage titles have brought the world of mobile gaming to a huge number of consumers that otherwise never played games. If gaming isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other reasons to get the phone. At 240 x 320 pixels, the video quality is really decent. Also, the web browsing has full HTML support, so it allows people to keep up-to-date on their favorite sites. Hope the folks in the UK are stoked about this.

Eskimohunter video shot entirely with Nokia Nseries devices

Not sure how much I like this band, but I have to give the music video director a ton of urban respect for filming this entirely on Nokia Nseries devices. Nokias are amazing devices for their camera hardware and this video proves that they’re even music video worthy. I mean c’mon, Carl Zeiss lens? Genius. Here is what the director, Mike Hodgkinson, had to say about the filming process:

Each of the Nokia Nseries devices I used was perfectly suited to the kind of experimental, ‘out-there’ shots I wanted to capture for ‘Surfing at 32F’. For example, as a highly compact slider, the Nokia N95 slotted neatly into the customized pouch I attached to my fishing-line monorail, while the flip-out screens on the Nokia N93 and N93i allowed me to cover the lens with DIY color filters quickly and easily,” said Hodgkinson. “Everything I imagined, the Nokia Nseries devices let me create. I really wanted to push the Nokia equipment to its limits, and each responded brilliantly. I’ve taken Nseries devices underwater, attached them to helium balloons and dangled them 100 feet above the Los Angeles River… and I’ve never lost a shot.

Nokia N96 comes to North America in Q4

The N96 has an official North American launch date

We finally have word from Nokia that North Americans can expect the N96 in Q4. The N96 is going to be a great follow up to the N95. It has localized 850/1900 HSDPA radios to go along with its GSM quad-band set, 2.8-inch QVGA display, 16GB of storage, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, WiFi, and assisted GPS. Not too shabby. The only thing the phone seems to be lacking is mobile TV or mediaFLO. For $895, it should have been included.
