David Cook exclusive new track available on MocoSpace

MocoSpace

We recently updated you about MocoSpace and we’ve got some more exciting news for you from the social network designed specifically for mobile phones. Today MocoSpace is exclusively previewing brand new music from 2008 American Idol winner David Cook.

The new track titled ‘Declaration’ is available to the over 4 million registered users of MocoSpace via a phone number (571.730.6184) they can dial from their mobiles. After a MocoSpace shout-out from Cook, listeners will hear the song in its entirety and then a message about signing up for text alerts from the artist. Cook, who won the American Idol contest in May of this year, is releasing his self-titled debut album on November 18th.

So if you’re a David Cook fan, or just want to meet some cool people on your mobile, I suggest heading over to MocoSpace.

MocoSpace update: Ludacris and Fallout Boy interviews, new artists and more

on MocoSpace

MocoSpace is a great site for meeting people on your mobile who like the same music that you like. We haven’t talked about them since CTIA so I thought today would be a good time to give you an update about the company.

MocoSpace recently added a link for amateur artists to submit to create an artist profile and put their music on the site. There are a ton of artists on the site who may not be on recording labels but are putting out great music so this is a good opportunity for them to get their music out. Not only can artists submit their own music, but all members can put songs on their profiles. Right now the only songs you can choose from are from artists’ profiles but you’d be hard pressed to find another mobile social networking site that offers this.

What can you expect in the coming month? Ludacris will be doing an interview with MocoSpace on November the 24th, so be sure to check that out. Also, expect Fallout Boy to do an interview with MocoSpace in the coming months. I’ll keep you updated about that.

MocoSpace is celebrating their 4 millionth user and they’ve made the Alexa top 1000 in the US at number 752. Stay tuned for more updates soon!

CTIA 2008: MocoSpace brings music, social and mobile together

MocoSpace on the iPhone

I had a chance to sit down with MocoSpace at CTIA and they’ve got some great news about their site. Users have skyrocketed to about 3.6 million users! They’re also trucking along very nicely with new artists and songs uploaded to their site.

In case you’ve been on Mars with your eyes sowed shut and your fingers in your ears, MocoSpace is one of the largest mobile internet sites in the world. They are also the largest pure mobile social network in the US with over 2 billion pageviews per month.

MocoSpace and Def Jam bring you LL Cool J, Nas, Ne-Yo and more

MocoSpace and Def Jam records

In response to a new study showing 18-29 year olds would rather give up their Internet than hand over their cell phones, MocoSpace recently signed an exclusive agreement with Street Records Corporation to exclusively pre-release tracks by Def Jam artists. Members listen and give feedback, ultimately determining whether to release the song as a single.

We sat down with Jim Gregoire and Casey Jones of MocoSpace. Jim Gregoire is the Head of Marketing and Casey Jones is the VP of Business Development at MocoSpace. No Casey is NOT the hockey mask wearing maniac from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Or maybe he is and he doesn’t tell anyone.

Greystripe games to be available on MocoSpace

Mocospace
Arjan at the Mobile Games Blog found out that Greystripe’s massive catalog of games will soon be available on MocoSpace. MocoScape is a free social networking site designed for mobile users. They offer photo sharing, chat, forums, and video to share with other mobile phone users. Greystripe’s games are all fully ad-supported, meaning that the games are free to download and play but feature advertisements at the beginning and end of the game, and occasionally during loading screens. You can get a sampling of Greystripe’s catalog by visiting GameJump or, soon, from MocoSpace’s site.
