iPhone CupSpeakers are so MacGyver

I like the idea of building your own mobile accessories. Like, if I were to build a case for my iPhone, it might be made of paper mache and duct tape. These paper cup speakers look way better though and they even have an Apple feel to them. The white and simple elegance of the paper cup seems like something right out of a Mac graphic design school.

“This is a fun project. Four single-serving paper cups, two tooth picks (for holding cups together) + iPod with classic earbuds. The increase in volume, of coarse, is radiculous, but hey, you get stylish iPod accessory out of nothing!”

i.TV launch video - a tribute to the old Mac ads?

Here is the launch video for the i.TV application for iPhone. I’ve been writing about i.TV for a little while now and I’ve used their application on several occasions. The best time to use i.TV is when you and your friend/spouse have one of those “what movie should we see?” moments. You just whip out your iPhone, and play a couple trailers.

Doesn’t this video remind you of the old Mac ads? Just the part with the droids staring at the screen in a 1984 kind of way.

Spore for Windows Mobile

Spore

Spore, the epic game created by EA, is now available for Windows Mobile. The mobile version, is not quite as rich as the PC/Mac version, but it’s still cool to have on your device. What would be really awesome, is if the two platforms worked together. I know a lot of people would appreciate being able to accomplish the less graphic and processor intensive parts of the game, and then upload it to their full version on the computer. This type of cross-platform gaming would be especially good for something like WoW. You could level up your character at the bus stop, and then plug him back into the full game. Anyways, the future isn’t here yet but it’s coming.

BlackBerry Media Sync for Mac

BlackBerry Media Sync

Syncing a BlackBerry with a Mac can be a pain. In the past, I’ve had issues with the device not being recognized by the Mac and installing software can sometimes be difficult. BGR got the first look at BlackBerry Media Sync for Mac. It’s a slick looking applications that is a great Mac port of the PC version. Now you’ll be able to sync your music, photos, videos, and even iTunes playlists to BlackBerry devices.

BlackBerry tip: Transferring data via Bluetooth (Mac)

Happy Mac and the Bluetooth logo
When I got my Pearl, one of the first things I did was take the obligatory pictures of myself making goofy faces in my bathroom mirror. The Pearl doesn’t have what you’d call a great camera, but it still sucks viewing pictures on the tiny little screen. I’m not sure why I have all this fancy technology at my fingertips if I’m just going to email stuff to myself (that’s so very 1999), so it’s time to set up Bluetooth.

Installing software to your BlackBerry via OTA not Mac

pocketmacscreen
There are a couple ways of getting software from the Internet to your BlackBerry. The best way is to send the file from the store to your BlackBerry OTA (Over the Air). OTA involves sending the download link via SMS or your email account and downloading the program through the browser. OTA is the easiest way especially for a Mac user who is going to experience some serious pains when using the BlackBerry sans PC.
