The excitement over the iPhone has been entirely genuine in North America and now India. People are lining up in droves to get their hands on the iPhone 3G. Check out the above picture. The Apple hype machine is hard at work.
On the other hand, Poland doesn’t seem to be playing into the hype and Orange has hired “dozens” of actors to line up at 20 stores around the country to “drum up interest.”

A grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has helped the BBC World Trust launch a “condom” ringtone that just says the word “condom” over and over. The ringtone is meant to help make the word and notion more socially acceptable in order to help ease Indians into sexual education. Listen to it here.

Just after their deal with Amob, PopCap has now signed up with Indiagames to get their titles spread throughout India. So far, only Bookworm and Chuzzle are set for release, but hopefully we’ll see some more of PopCap’s game (Bejewelled, anyone?) in the region.
