“We are hugely excited to have been chosen to take one of Universal’s prized licenses for 2008 to mobile,” said I-play’s president, David Gosen. “Our heritage for creating groundbreaking concepts in mobile gaming has been proven many times before, and we look forward to re-writing the rules of gaming with ‘Wanted’, the mobile game.”

The game’s launch will coincide with the movie’s release in theaters, currently scheduled in March of 2008.

I-play releases results of market research

iPlay
I-play has released the results of some market research, which indicates that a great many players of casual online games are or want to be mobile gamers as well.

According to the survey, 38% of casual online gamers play mobile games as well (22% said “yes,” 16% said “sometimes”), and nearly half, or 45%, would play their favorite online games on their phone if a version were available.

When asked how often they play games, 66% of respondents played on a daily basis and 22% played three times a week.

The findings come from a poll of 1,000 online casual gamers visiting game sites served by Oberon, of which I-play is a subsidiary, during the month of September.

I-play has adapted the following games, in addition to Jewel Quest II, for the flyStore: My Dog 2, Skipping Stone, Hexic, Fish Tycoon, Bubble Town, Bricks of Egypt, and Bricks of Atlantis.

“Oberon’s I-play brings an exciting collection of games that tweens can choose to personalize their phone,” said Patrick Marry, CEO of Firefly Mobile. “Parents can be assured that at Firefly Mobile’s online store, tweens will find only age appropriate materials.”

I-play releases FMX III Hardcore

The trend of new racing games continues for a second day with I-play’s release of a motorcycle game called FMX III Hardcore.

Designed by XENDEX, the game features an impressive physics engine and full ragdoll physics for crashes. The engine also allows 360° air tricks and the ability to turn your bike 180° and run the courses backwards. Players start the game and hone their skills in Los Angeles, before moving to Las Vegas to become a star, culminating in a race during a rock concert. Bonus levels include Kamikaze and Big Jump.

“We are happy to release one of the best extreme sport mobile games, as we see it. FMX III Hardcore is the first FMX game of the series available also in 3D, with an even more advanced physics engine than in previous versions,” said XENDEX CEO Michael Haberl. “The technology behind FMX III Hardcore is borrowed from molecular physics and allows fast and realistic simulation of the stunning stunts achievable in the sport. XENDEX will continue to push the limits of mobile phone games with other upcoming title releases.”

The game is available across I-play’s entire global distribution network.

I-play releases Slingo Quest

I-play has announced the release of Slingo Quest, a mobile version of the hugely popular online game Slingo.

This is the fruit of a labor that started back in February, when I-play first announced their partnership with the Slingo company. Now the combination slots-and-bingo game has been upgraded with an island-hopping storyline.

“Slingo Quest is a well loved online casual games property and we’re excited about the impact it will have on mobile,” said I-play president David Gosen. “The Slingo franchise is also available via Oberon Media’s online platform and PixelPlay’s iTV platform, and we will naturally be looking to cross pollinate Slingo’s huge online community to mobile.”

The game is available now. It is known as Slingo Bingo in Europe.

I-play releases FIA World Rally Championship

I-play has announced the release of FIA World Rally Championship, which they began work on back in July.

The game features rally racing in 16 different countries, in all terrains and all weathers, and at any time of the day or night. I-play plans to incorporate one-thumb gameplay, but hopes to make the game difficult to master, while easy to pick up and play.

“High speed frenzied action, with detailed and incredibly high quality graphics, will raise WRC above and beyond any other mobile rally racing game,” said David Gosen, President of I-play. “Staying true to I-play’s casual development philosophy, the game will incorporate ‘one thumb’ play and will be easy to get into, but challenging to master.”

Both the 2D version of the game, developed internally by I-play, and the 3D version, developed by Firemint, will be distributed worldwide.

Additionally, I-play has announced Hexic, Mozaki Blocks, Flowerz, Slinky, Fish Tycoon, Spin & Win, Bricks of Egypt, Bricks of Atlantis, Magic Match, Bubble Town, and Saints & Sinners Bingo, although no information on the titles is available other than their names.
