
Isn’t Helio gone or about to go? I’m pretty sure Virgin sealed the deal but whatevs. A while back when I interviewed Your World Games about The Shroud, I didn’t get an answer, but things are trucking along it seems. Along with the Helio release of The Shroud is the GPS Challenge, available for all GPS-enabled Helio devices, which will allow players to physically locate Breaches in real-life locations. This is a super sweet and innovative function but I’m really lazy so I’d probably suck at it.

The new OS version 2.1 has been given out to developers and among the enhancements in the new version comes better GPS functionality. Core location services will be updated to provide information about your direction and speed. So it looks like we’ll be getting driving help soon enough.
Oh yeah, and apps will be able to run in the background too!

Engadget Mobile is reporting that Foxconn, the guys who manufactured the 1st gen iPhone, has won the Apple contract and will be manufacturing the upcoming 3G iPhones. They’re rumored to be ramping up production by the end of May, and shipping 3 million iPhones in June. 25 million 3G iPhones are expected before the phones reach EoL’d. The Mobile Games Blog also posted a list of the most plausible rumors as to what we’ll see when the phone is released, with GPS topping the list.
