Artificial Life has expanded their network by signing a distribution deal with India-based Bharti Airtel, reports Mobile Games Blog.
“India has already more than 126 million mobile subscribers with a very strong growth momentum, and Airtel is the driving force in bringing 3G to India so we are extremely excited to launch our games in India through Bharti Airtel,” said Artificial Life CEO Eberhard Schoneburg. “We believe our products will appeal to India’s emerging 2G and 3G markets and are looking forward to further expansion of our business in Asia.”
The deal covers the V-series of games–V-Boy and V-Girl–and American’s Next Top Model, as well as other content including wallpapers, ringtones, and screensavers.
Mobile developer Artificial Life has released their 2006 financial results, reports Mobile Games Blog.
The company’s CEO, Eberhard Schoneburg, called it a “good year.” AL’s revenue grew from 2005’s $266,757 to $856,334 in 2006. The 221% increase in revenue can be partially attributed to licensing revenue from key 3G products such as the V-series and internet technologies. Not loss was up 74.69%, or $2,942,532 for this year as opposed to last year’s $1,684,449. The loss was primarily due to the company’s global expansion and increase in staff, as well as a stock-based compensation expense of $1,486,800.
Schoneburg also revealed some of the company’s plan for 2007: “In 2007 we intend to further expand our product launches to many more countries around the world such as Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK among others,” he said. “Our European roll-out activities will be handled mostly by our new European headquarters and staff in Berlin. We also plan to release again several new and exciting 3G mobile games based on our own intellectual properties and other new titles based on popular licensed brands in 2007.”
