EA has launched an iPhone version of the classic game SimCity. SimCity is what started it all. Before virtual worlds were popular, SimCity had everyone going nuts over the idea of making their own city. Created by Will Wright and originally released for the Mac and Amiga in 1989, the game has been a hit release after release.
SimCity is now available for $9.99USD through the App Store.

TouchArcade has done a great job of putting together a list of discounted iPhone apps and games. The list includes a ton of games that have become free as well as some significant price drops. I haven’t done a Black Friday post yet so this is it. Because I’ve spent the last 3 Thanksgivings in Asia and the Middle East, to be totally honest I just found out about Black Friday about a week ago and I still don’t really get it. Spore, the epic game created by EA, is now available for Windows Mobile. The mobile version, is not quite as rich as the PC/Mac version, but it’s still cool to have on your device. What would be really awesome, is if the two platforms worked together. I know a lot of people would appreciate being able to accomplish the less graphic and processor intensive parts of the game, and then upload it to their full version on the computer. This type of cross-platform gaming would be especially good for something like WoW. You could level up your character at the bus stop, and then plug him back into the full game. Anyways, the future isn’t here yet but it’s coming.

Spore came out for the iPhone on Friday. We’ve done a ton of reporting on this game and we’re very happy it’s out for iPhone. We’ve yet to test this game out but EA are great game developers and I’m sure it will impress. Stay tuned on QuicklyBored and we’ll get our hands on the game to show you an in depth look.
