iFishing by Rocking Pocket Games

Now that Apple has stopped their NDA on iPhone development, we get a TON of sneak previews, such as this one from Rocking Pocket Games. I’ve tried Rocking Pocket Games’ “Blue Skies - Air Force Academy” and it was a great casual shooting game. Their latest game, iFishing, looks sweet too. iFishing looks like your typical fishing game until you get into the “cast” mode where you have to bag a big one. The iPhone accelerometer provides a great fishing experience. We’ll keep you updated when it hits the App Store.

LG Rhytm is the latest music-centric device

LG Rhytm

The LG Rhytm is a slider phone that comes complete with FM radio, 1.3MP camera, EVDO and microSD slot. The phone is said to be tuned by Mark Levinson who has over 30 years of experience making quality hardware for audiophiles.

On top of all this, the phone comes with a 2” main display and a PMP-like navigation cluster with small touch display in the middle, showing what its function in the current menu is. Oh and of course it has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Rhytm costs $120 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a two-year contract.

The BlackBerry Storm + RIM App Store = The ultimate consumer BlackBerry

A couple days ago we got news from BlackBerry Cool that the BlackBerry Storm was officially announced on Vodafone. Since then, we’ve seen a huge surge in Storm activity. Bell and TELUS also decided to pick up the Storm.

I’m really excited about the touch screen developments on the BlackBerry Storm. The haptic vibration system makes for a new experience that the current touch screen market does not offer. When you touch the keypad for instance, the haptic vibrations simulate actual keys, making it easier to type.

On top of the media capabilities and new touch screen system, the BlackBerry Application Center will launch with the BlackBerry Storm’s OS 4.7. It will allow BlackBerry users find, browse and install/upgrade 3rd party BlackBerry apps hosted by carriers. The Application Center will display an up to date list of applications availalbe for download, along with description and marketing information about each application. Functionally, the App Center will consist of the device side client and a a server backend hosted by RIM that the application will interact with to retrieve up to date application list of applications hosted by the carriers.

The numbers I’ve been seeing lately say that about 50% of BlackBerry users are pure consumers. I’m expecting this device to push the consumer side even more.

Mobile Content 2008 - The long journey to Seoul, Korea

My pals from Korea

Ok so I’m off to Korea today. I’ve asked my partner in blogging Douglas to post if he sees something really spectacular go down but he’s running a BlackBerry behemoth blog on his own so there might not be anything on the site today. Except this. So I’ll add some cool YouTube videos demo’ing the Cyon LG phone I used in Korea.

CTIA San Francisco - Canadians in America

Fried Twinkies!

Can you believe they have fried Twinkies?!

We’re staying at the Pacific Tadewinds hostel between the financial district and China town..

I’m currently torn about the whole micro-blogging business. Obviously QuicklyBored will be bringing you nothing but the best news, interviews, pics and video from CTIA, but that’s a long ways away. So instead, QB will be running as usual but with a much more personal vibe. So continuing on that trend, I’ve taken some time to post some Americana that, as a Canadian, I find really funny. Take the above pic for example. Fried Twinkies? Yum?
