Gov. Rod Blagojevich ringtones now available

The company that brought you Sarah Palintones, is now offering Blago Tones. Essentially, the biggest U.S. political scandal of the month, can now be shared with people around you in ringtone form. If you’re not aware of the scandal, here is what Huffington Post has to say about it:

The governor, accused of seeking cash for the political appointment of Obama’s Senate replacement, is not a close associate of the President-elect. Indeed, in the affidavit, Blagojevich called Obama a “motherfucker” for wanting him to appoint an official that the governor either did not like or wouldn’t receive money from. Local news reports, meanwhile, suggest that it was Obama chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel who blew the whistle on the governor.

Expect all the ringtones and wallpapers to be governed by the carriers and therefore completely lame. As we all know, carriers have opposite of the Midas Touch. Everything they touch turns to garbage.

LG develops 4G (LTE) Windows Mobile device

LG has been showcasing various LTE technologies and one of them was a WinMo phone running over LTE. The potential for LTE is amazing and it will definitely be the missing link for full video streaming and media capabilities on a device.

With LTE technology, users can download a 700 MB movie file in less than one minute at speeds of 100 Mbps. LTE technology would also allow consumers to simultaneously stream four HD movies without any buffering.

This is going to be an incredible advancement in mobile devices and LG are doing a great job of pioneering the technology. With over 250 staff on the research and development team, expect the first LTE devices to come from LG.

Pandora Radio set to finally arrive on Windows Mobile

May not be true

Pandora Radio is the incredibly popular streaming radio program that makes intelligent guesses as to what songs you would like to hear based on preferences. The software was supposed to come embedded with the new LG Incite on AT&T, but a few Incite owners have said this isn’t the case. It could be that the promotion was prematurely made public before carriers could load the software. Stay tuned because Pandora will be available to download for other devices in the near future.

Shazam! G1 Android music recognition app

Check out this killer app for the Android T-Mobile G1. Shazam! listens to music on the radio or wherever, analyzes it, and then tells you what song you’re listening to. The app was tested with a fairly popular band, Cake, and I’m curious how it would do with other genres of music and increasingly rare tracks. I guess it depends what database it’s pulling from. In any case, if you’ve got the G1, check this out.
