A Touch HD Pro is a great idea. There are many situations where you’ll be much more comfortable typing on a keyboard than you would on a touch screen. Emails, for example, are best written on a keyboard. The BlackBerry Storm is supposed to revolutionize the way we type on a touch screen, but even they might be abandoning that format for the BlackBerry Magnum. The BlackBerry Magnum, for those who haven’t heard, is basically a BlackBerry Curve with a touch screen. Making it a heavy duty Treo-like device.
Size isn’t really a big deal for me because it usually means a bigger screen which is fine by me. That being said, I’m still curious to see how big the HTC Touch HD Pro will be.
Mobile@Mail.Ru put together great comparison shots of the LG Renoir vs the Samsung Pixon. Both phones are 8 MP camera phones and if you’re unsure which one you should buy, these comparisons should help you make up your mind.
Spec-wise, the Renoir is the better camera phone. According to BGR, “the Renoir offers a Schneider-Kreuznach Lens and a Xenon flash which on paper (and in practice) outperforms the cheap plastic lens and dual LED flash of the Pixon. The Renoir also has an active autofocus which the reviewer deems superior to the Pixon’s passive autofocus.” Click through for great comparison shots of the LG Renoir and the Pixon M8800
Here is the launch video for the i.TV application for iPhone. I’ve been writing about i.TV for a little while now and I’ve used their application on several occasions. The best time to use i.TV is when you and your friend/spouse have one of those “what movie should we see?” moments. You just whip out your iPhone, and play a couple trailers.
Doesn’t this video remind you of the old Mac ads? Just the part with the droids staring at the screen in a 1984 kind of way.
Radar is reporting that the T-Mobile G1 launch party was filled with models for hire. Jack White, Jay-Z and DJ Cassidy all made appearances at the party. Here is what the Radar reporter had to say, he was clearly still on a natural high from being surrounded by so many babes:
And then there were the models. Seriously, at one point, it seemed like every other female in the room—a large, loft-like space in Manhattan’s West Village—was some long-limbed, non-English speaking beauty. At a tech party, no less! What gives? Weird coincidence, or are nerds suddenly cool again?
The above picture is from Last Night’s Party and I bet it’s what the G1 launch party was like.
Matt “W4LNUT” Cameron (see contributors page for bio) and I made this video for the guys at mobipad. They also made a sweet video showcasing the product. Our videos are complimentary and showcase different elements of it. Our video would be the viral video hype, while their video would be a great TV ad. Check out our video and let us know what you think.
Music in the video was graciously provided under Creative Commons License by Newgrounds from their Castle Crashers soundtrack.
How great is this photo? I have no idea what this person is talking about but if there was an award for Most Amazing SMS Conversation, it would win. This is the first time I’ve seen something worth posting on a tech blog from LastNightsParty. Usually it’s models who are on the verge of OD’ing on cocaine. Actually wait, this is probably no different.
This is the Limited Edition Samsung Soul has been renamed simply the Black & Gold. It’s got a nice slider form to it but the black and gold colors just seem a little tacky to me. I can see someone whose into bling enjoying this phone. The phone has decent specs with a 5-megapixel camera, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and OLED-equipped d-pad. The Limited Edition is only $40 more than the original.
Pageonce is a great way to store all of your accounts that you would like to keep track of. For example, I keep my YouTube, Hotmail, Gmail, Skype and credit cards all on pageonce and I can keep tabs on my social and financial life. The user interface is great for this product too. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good iPhone app to keep track of your online and offline life. Check them out on the app store, it’s free.
