ThumbPlay is selling ringtone versions of Liam Sullivan and Kelly’s “Shoes”. The video is pretty classic but I think Sophie Bell of ThumbPlay summed it up best:
“Oh My God. You can now totally get like the best most hilarious ringtones ever!”
We’ve all seen the iPhone ads where someone breezes through the internet at seemingly lightning fast speeds. Many on the Internet have complained that the speeds shown in the ads were not indicative of the speeds they are getting in reality. Being in Canada, and having the 2nd fastest download speeds on Earth, I personally haven’t found the speed of the Internet frustrating. It is by far the best I’ve experienced on a mobile device.
The UK advertising watchdog’s biggest beef, was not with the speeds, but a particular statement: “all the parts of the internet are on the phone.” This statement was considered misleading because the phone does not support Flash. Click through to read Apple’s response to the controversy
I’ve been using the iPhone 3G for about 2 months now and the battery life has been a bit of a downer. It will barely last a single day with my sort of use. Brando, has helped this issue by creating an external battery that also comes with a loudspeaker. Talk about 2 birds with 1…external battery pack. It’s only $44 too.
[Edito's Note: I had to clean up this post because WordPress on the iPhone is aesthetically displeasing to say the least.]
Going golfing to test the iPhone’s GPS. Too bad the Jaguar doesn’t have Bluetooth. I will be uploading all the satellite images of the Stonebridge Golf and Country Club later today.
There are a ton of nice phones coming out of Japan that make for great mobile entertainment. Take for example the latest, the Exilim-branded Casio / Hitachi phone, which has an 8 MP camera and potential for Omnivision sensor technology. The Ominivision technology is a means of bringing more pixels to your phone in a slim form factor.
We finally have word from Nokia that North Americans can expect the N96 in Q4. The N96 is going to be a great follow up to the N95. It has localized 850/1900 HSDPA radios to go along with its GSM quad-band set, 2.8-inch QVGA display, 16GB of storage, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, WiFi, and assisted GPS. Not too shabby. The only thing the phone seems to be lacking is mobile TV or mediaFLO. For $895, it should have been included.
If you’re one of the unlucky people who were duped into getting the latest software upgrade, you’ll be happy to know that the iPhone Dev Team have come up with the latest fix for the PwnageTool and you can now jailbreak 2.0.2.
The iControl pad has been picking up some fame over at Gizmodo and TouchArcade. I remember seeing video about this back in June when the pad was just in development. The iControl pad has four face buttons, a D pad, Start/Select and an LED to show when it’s in use. This is exactly what console gaming needs for the iPhone. I’d love to try it out on some of the emulators that have been popping up.
