For BlackBerry Pearl users who can’t get enough of the color pink, today is your lucky day. AT&T has placed the Sandstone Pink BlackBerry Pearl 8110 on their website. The Sandstone Pearl 8110 retails for $150 on a two-year contract, but also features a $50 rebate which drops the device down to an even $100. Considering the price and the color, I think the Sandstone Pink BlackBerry Pearl 8110 will sell like hotcakes this holiday season.
Not much to say here, as the BlackBerry Storm hype train continues worldwide. If previous Storm news wasn’t enough to make you want the device, I doubt this video will push you over, but it is cool how they imply that the Storm gives you semi-super powers.
Our friends at Bplay are really starting to show off their theme-building skills, this time with an Airshow BlackBerry theme that reminds me of a time when I wanted to be like Chuck Yeager.
The slick animated will run you only $6.99 but is not compatible with the BlackBerry 8830. View some higher res screenshots after the jump.

While Kyle and I were in San Francisco covering CTIA, there was another event taking place at the same time: the TechCrunch50, which is an event for startups to demo their wares and get bought/funding. One of the highlights of the show was from Tonchidot and it’s Japanese CEO Takahito Iguchi.
The long video (17 minutes!) is worth watching not only as a demonstration of how the right piece of software can turn simple things like location and a camera into a next-level experience, but the enthusiasm Iguchi-san displays for his product while trying to overcome a significant language barrier.
Doesn’t everyone want something like this on their phone? And maybe a cool Japanese dude following you around, saying things like “Imagination!”?
TapRoot Systems has a great mobile app for anyone who needs Wi-Fi access. Walking Hotspot turns any Wi-Fi enabled device into a portable hotspot for up to five connections. One of the best applications at CTIA.
Well it was only a matter of time until we were able to see some hands on video of the BlackBerry Storm/Thunder. This time the scoop comes not from us, but the “BREW Ninja”, who will obviously get someone at Verizon/Qualcomm fired. Go to 2:55 to see the goods.
It might seem a little surprising that a relative unknown has their hands on such a coveted device before someone like Boy Genius, but something is definitely going down at Verizon. Before this video went up, we were getting emails from people demanding money for Thunder/Storm pics. Is there some sort of major leak going on or are we closer to release than previously thought? We’ll investigate more in the morning.

What, you think we didn’t have one before today? While we’re still not sure when you’ll be able to walk into a Rogers store to actually buy the shiny new device like Simon did, today still marks the official launch of the BlackBerry Bold on Rogers. In honor of this special day, we’ve decided to post our exhaustive review, if only to whet your appetites.
And boy, has this day been a long time coming: three years in development, three months since its official announcement at WES 2008, and three times the hype of any other BlackBerry release. The first in RIM’s next generation lineup of smartphones, the BlackBerry Bold has been labeled everything from an enterprise company’s desperate push into the prosumer space to a true iPhone killer. Most of the BlackBerry faithful are just hoping that it turns out to be a worthy merger and evolution of the BlackBerry 8800 and Curve device lines. This review will settle the debate.
Be forewarned, our review of the BlackBerry Bold is fairly large. However, we’ve broken the review down into specific sections for quick and convenient access to the information you seek. Make sure to post a comment to let us know if there’s anything we’ve missed, anything else you want to know about, and whether or not you feel RIM’s new flagship device meets the hype.
BlackBerry Cool, our BlackBerry sister site, is the first to get its hands on a great new product called Zumobi and today is the day Zumobi has officially announced its release.
Zumobi is a free mobile widget application for BlackBerry. What exactly is a mobile widget application? Look at it this way: the power of the smartphones in the hands of the BlackBerry Nation gives us the ability to update our Facebook, check out cool Flickr images, and maybe even read BlackBerry Cool (ahem), all while on the go. However, tricking out your BlackBerry in such a fashion usually requires a bit of work, or at least a handful of applications. Zumobi gives you the power to do all this and more in one application, using a slick graphical interface of 16 widgets (or ’tiles’ as Zumobi likes to call them) to place all the mobile content you want on one pretty little screen.
Zumobi was kind enough to give us an advance build, as well as an instructional video which should give you a better feel of how the application works. You can find our initial impressions and the video after the jump. Stay tuned tomorrow for the full review, as well as some special prizes we have in store for you on Zumobi’s behalf.
