Fring is a free iPhone app that offers IM aggregation and VoIP, but according to reviews out there, it isn’t quite what you wanted. Apparently, the VoIP calls constantly drop and the IM client lacks all the slightly rich features that IMs usually have such as avatars. Also, the VoIP can’t access your contact list so you have to manually input numbers. Sounds like a bummer but I like the idea. VoIP calls on the iPhone are going to be great for saving money.
