T-Mobile G1 Android smartphone is selling better than hotcakes

T-Mobile Android G1

I am incredibly impressed with the number of T-Mobile G1’s that have been pre-ordered. The numbers are different depending on your source, but I’ve heard an accurate figure would be about 200-300 thousand G1’s pre-sold. Compared to the fact that the iPhone hit a million sales in 20 different countries, 300k is an enormous number.

Motley Fool cited a Cens.com article that said, “according to industry insiders, T-Mobile is planning to order a total of between 1.5 million and 2 million units of G1 with HTC in the near future, including 400,000 to 500,000 to be sold in the fourth quarter of this year.”

This number may be a little high, but the fact remains, the G1 is KILLING IT! This is a glorious day for smartphones folks. I am no longer concerned with the economy if this sort of news keeps up.
