UPDATE: Nokia secret video revealed

Nokia viral marketing campaign

We’ll show you what was inside that God forsaken box.

A while back we did a post on QuicklyBored regarding a viral marketing campaign by Nokia found at www.openatownrisk.com. The site now displays a message telling the user to visit the Nokia Download Service and download the weirdest clip ever made. I couldn’t be bothered to go through the download service because I found someone who had already posted the video online. Thanks Internet!

Pretty awesome! I’m not sure of the exact reasons for the campaign. My guess is that Nokia used this viral marketing campaign to get people downloading, and thus drive people to familiarize themselves with the Nokia Download Service. I’m sure there are at least a few users who didn’t know how to get clips but now do because of this campaign.

My next question is, how much did they spend on this campaign and was it worth it? The Internet version of this video only has a few hundred views on YouTube. Not a great response.
