African teenager hacks his phone to create vehicle anti-theft device

Africans know how to rise above abject poverty to make sick gadgets.

The above video documents a teen from Mombasa who hacked his phone to create a really cool anti-theft device for his car. The way it works is that when someone tries to start the car who hasn’t proven themselves to be the driver, the car will automatically call the owner’s mobile phone and the owner can then choose to shut down the vehicle remotely. Sweet!
