Vodaphone claims HTC Touch Diamond beats iPhone

Vodafone UK is fully supporting the HTC Touch Diamond and saying that it is a superior device to the iPhone. Here at QuicklyBored, we do recognize that the HTC Touch Diamond has some qualities that make it superior such as a higher resolution display, smaller size, a higher resolution camera and a tilt sensor but Vodafone has gone a little far. Here is the quote:

Feature rich Windows Mobile 6.1 device utilising HTC’s new Touchflow UI. This device is in a tablet form factor meaning it is touch screen only. The Diamond surpasses the iPhone in all aspects, the key differentiator is the inherent flexibility of the Diamond. It comes loaded with Vodafone Email Plus and the Vodafone Sat Nav program.

iPhone 3G caught side-by-side with original iPhone

iLounge has posted a good pic of the original iPhone with the iPhone 3G side-by-side. There isn’t any ground shattering news here but I’ve started looking at iPhone pics like they’re pornographic centerfolds. These 2 iPhones side by side is like getting Traci Lords and Jenna Haze to somehow meet somewhere in the time continuum and pose together. Well, maybe Traci Lords would have to be a little older than her heyday.

Here are some quick specs about the size comparisons:

The 0.48” depth is thicker than the touch (0.31″), 80GB classic (0.41″), and original iPhone (0.46″) but thinner than the 160GB classic (0.53″), and tapered at the sides for the appearance of thinness. At 4.7 ounces, it weighs more than iPod touch (4.2), but less than the iPod classic (4.9-5.7 oz.).

Virgin Mobile offers “Totally Unlimited” calling for $79.99

Virgin Mobile is looking to be an industry leader in price slashing with their new “Totally Unlimited” package. For $80 a month, you get unlimited calling at any time of the day or night. One of the more impressive parts of this deal is that you don’t need to sign any contracts or give them a credit card. It is a no-commitment, zero hassle deal.

With such a great deal, Virgin Mobile may become the only successful MVNO in America. Wait, it’s probably the only MVNO in America. Let’s hope this pricing plan keeps them floating. Expect the service to kick in July 1st.

Nokia N78 now available in New York and Chicago

The N78, which is one of the lower-end phones in the Nokia NSeries, can now be purchased at Nokia flagship sotres in Chicago and New York. Remember, the N78 is packing HSDPA, a 3.2-megapixel camera and A-GPS. The phone will cost $560, so it isn’t clear why people will be going for the N78 rather than an iPhone. You may just be a die hard Symbian fan.

AIM beta now available for Windows Mobile phones

Yet another option is added to the available list; AOL is now running its IM’s beta on Windows Mobile phones. Sadly, this new beta is only available in the U.S. right now but I’m sure Canada will get it soon enough.
Here are some of the things you can do with AIM:

  • Update your status
  • Change your conversation style
  • Manage your Buddy List (for those random strangers you meet on the bus)

It’s supposed to look and feel just like its desktop counterpart and is supported by all Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6 devices.

AIM for Windows Mobile is still in it’s beta and doesn’t currently have an update mechanism available but AOL assures us that future builds will be update friendly.
