The company that brought you Sarah Palintones, is now offering Blago Tones. Essentially, the biggest U.S. political scandal of the month, can now be shared with people around you in ringtone form. If you’re not aware of the scandal, here is what Huffington Post has to say about it:

The governor, accused of seeking cash for the political appointment of Obama’s Senate replacement, is not a close associate of the President-elect. Indeed, in the affidavit, Blagojevich called Obama a “motherfucker” for wanting him to appoint an official that the governor either did not like or wouldn’t receive money from. Local news reports, meanwhile, suggest that it was Obama chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel who blew the whistle on the governor.

I love the idea of console games coming to mobile. Back when QB was first starting out, we were solely about mobile games. The problem was, they all totally sucked. It made for a really cynical blog that pretty much only doled out bad reviews. Most of our hate was concentrated on the RAZR and every game that came with it. I constantly talked about how the day will come when mobile gaming will be fun and we’ll have genuine console ports. It’s incredible that I’m still blogging and that day has come.

Katamari is now available for the iPhone. Heck yeah! The game costs $8 on the App Store and although I haven’t played it yet, it seems to have most of the functionality of the original game.

The iPhone 3G has been finally unlocked. Previously, we’ve seen stories of iPhone unlocking methods that involve taking apart your iPhone and doing some wild Frankenstein-like soldering. The Dev-Team have announced that they’ve sucessfully unlocked an iPhone 3G and will make it available via PwnageTool and QuickPwn sometime around the New Year. Seriously, these guys are wild. What can’t they do?

The HTC Touch is a great phone. Problem is, Windows Mobile can be incredibly frustrating for the average consumer. The Microsoft approach is great for anyone who is a pro user. It provides you with every possible option and lets you choose your experience. It’s the complete opposite of Apple and the iPhone. Mac has always been described to me as “the computer for people who don’t understand or care about computers.” Maybe having Android on the HTC Touch is a good idea. I’d have to try it out myself.

Ah booth girls. I wonder if being surrounded by professionals gives them any incentive to change their career from cute girl with a smile, to cute girl with a smile and a real PR job. I would love to do PR for a company that I actually believed in and loved their product. Actually, it would be even better to do PR for something that was totally intangible. Here are some things I would love to help with public relations, not that they need it:

Catching stuff people throw at you.

That feeling when you’re full but not stuffed.

Being the guy who hooks people up.

Getting free stuff because you know someone.

Ustream.tv are working on a mobile streaming video application and it looks really efficient. The only problem is, does the world need yet another video streaming app? I never really got into the scene, mostly because I didn’t get into the community surrounding it. Many of my friends don’t have phones that are capable of making decent video, so they weren’t in the community either. At that point, I have to start sharing videos with total strangers, which is kind of weird. Also, these sites get completely bombarded by web cam girls who have a tendency to ruin everything they touch. For example, tapatap.com is a good site, but if you start networking with girls with cute avatars, you’ll quickly run into a girl sending you a link to either her porn site, or the porn site that employs her. Happened to me many a times. If these guys can build a community like FaceBook, where it’s all bros and no hos, we’re good.

Ina Fried is a senior staff writer for CNET’s News.com and she recently squashed all the rumors that the Zune phone was coming to CES 2009. Apparently, Ballmer won’t be unveiling the device and will instead be focusing his talk on Windows 7 from a consumer perspective.

“Microsoft will have a bunch of stuff to show at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, but a rumored Zune Phone won’t be one of them, according to sources familiar with the company’s plans. Instead, much of CEO Steve Ballmer’s focus will be on talking about Windows 7 from a consumer perspective. Microsoft is pushing to have Windows 7 done in time for the holiday 2009 shopping season, so that means this CES is Ballmer’s best stage to tout its benefits.”

Pastebud is the latest attempt to bring cut and paste to the iPhone. The app is a bookmarklet/webapp combo with a fairly interesting setup process. What you do is head to Pastebud’s site, drag the bookmarklets to your browser toolbar, and sync your device. Once you’ve installed the bookmarks (and probably re-arranged them higher in your list), you can head to any web page containing text you want to copy to a web form or email. Hit the “COPY” bookmark, and all the page text gets sent to Pastebud and put into a JavaScript-powered applet, where you select the particular text to copy by tapping and dragging to select. Seems like a pretty intense system doesn’t it? The app works but can we please just get an OS update that does all this natively? The app costs $5 and it has a somewhat annoying feature that involves attaching a “copied from Pastebud” note at the end of every paste. No thanks.

Lenovo, the notebook maker, is developing an Android-powered handset that is supposed to be incredibly bossy. The above pic is the first available live image of the Android Lenovo device and it’s codenamed OPhone. Not very original huh? The device will launch on China Mobile and support its 3G service called TD SCDMA. Don’t expect this phone to launch anytime in the US. It’s going to be only available in China and maybe Asia.
