WWDC showcased an application that allowed you to create your own music on the iPhone but what about an application that creates music sans user input? On the subject of applications that allow you to create music on the iPhone, Dave Pinter of PSFK writes:
The next step is blending these applications with generative music tools and a loop library to allow the device to make it’s own music.
The idea is interesting but the quality of output would have to be something special for it to take off. I would kill myself if I were forced to listen to a nonsensical stream of blips and bleeps sampled over disjointed drum loops and remixed over Enya playing backwards. Wouldn’t you?
