Another notch on the list of “crazy features I want but will never use” is mobile smells. NTT Communications is going to test a mobile version of their Fragrance Communication service. The service allows users to download “fragrance playlists” and send specific odors to a special device which mixes different smells to achieve the desired aroma, and until now was only offered to land lines. The test runs from April 10th to the 20th. I only hope that when this is released to the public it includes a “burnt plastic” selection, just so I can freak people out.
