BlackBerry screenshots made easier

After Devin posted about how taking screenshots with a BlackBerry is a grueling process, we got an email from Rove who were all “Actually it’s a cinch with our Mobile Viewer for BlackBerry” so we gave it a go. Now we’re going to have to retract out statement that “Taking BlackBerry screenshots is a huge pain” and change it to “Taking BlackBerry screenshots isn’t a pain but Mac is still left in the dark.”

Rove’s Mobile Viewer for BlackBerry is completely free which is a huge bonus. It’s also incredibly easy to set up which means Devin doesn’t have to grow old and senile while he figures out how to use the software. Here is how you use Rove’s viewer:

1. Install BlackBerry Viewer on your computer.
2. Connect your BlackBerry smartphone to a USB port on your computer.
3. Open the BlackBerry Viewer application on your computer.
4. Click Start.

Easy no?

The only thing missing from Rove is a Mac version. We’re constantly getting punked in this respect because the Mac/PC wars have somehow managed to trickle into the BlackBerry community and we just haven’t learned how to work together.

Make software not war.
