Swedish publisher and developer GlobalFun has announced that they plan to file for an IPO.
The company has operations in Sweden, USA, Argentina, Italy, and Spain. They will be filing for the IPO in Sweden during the first quarter of 2008. CEO Marcus Johansson voiced hopes that the move will help move the company forward.
“We are at the tipping point and felt that an IPO would give us the tools needed to push forward faster,” said Johansson. “There’s a lot of interesting movements in the market that will define this industry as we move on. To have some of the stock floating provides both a small injection of funds but more importantly a market valuation of the company and a currency for acquisitions.â€
More information will be released in January.
