Konami has announced a new game called Castlevania: Order of Shadows, a mobile exclusive based on their long running Castlevania series. The news follows on the heel of the announcement that they will be bringing DS game Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow to mobile phones.
Designed in collaboration with franchise mastermind Koji Iharashi, the game features new and updated abilities, spells, and enemies. It also features brand new songs and a graphics engine capable of delivering full screen particle effects. The company has also launched a “Developer’s Corner” on their website, the first installment of which features Order of Shadows lead designer Tyrone Rodriguez.
“As a worldwide leader in high quality, multi-platform videogames, Konami is looking to raise the entertainment standard of games for mobile phones,” said Joe Morris, Vice President of Konami Mobile. “Mobile technology has exploded, providing powerful new tools to enhance today’s mobile gaming experiences. Konami’s esteemed game developers will be creating original titles based on the company’s top franchises including Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid Mobile, Contra and others.”
The game is scheduled for release September 18th on most major carriers.
