Nokia/Qualcomm’s battle of patents continues

MocoNews is reporting that the patent battle between Nokia and Qualcomm is still going strong.

Last week, Nokia paid $20 million to Qualcomm for the use of their patents for the Q2 of this year, or about a 10th of what they would have paid under the old agreement. Qualcomm has asked the American Arbitration Association to rule that “Nokia’s use of its patents after April 9 would amount to a choice by the Finnish company to extend their existing pact and pay the same royalty rate.” They also claim the the $20 million Nokia paid is merely an acknowledgment of their obligation to compensate Qualcomm for the use of patents.
