SpaceWorks Entertainment and Silverbirch Studios have announced a partnership to develop and publish a game based on the upcoming TV show Ice Planet.
Ice Planet follows the story of a small group of survivors who have survived a massive asteroid strike on Earth, only because the ancient alien artifact they were examining ripped them through space-time to a mysterious ice planet. The survivors soon discover that they have been dropped into the midst of an alien war.
“We’re very excited to work on this project,” said Silverbirch Studios Vice President Jason Azevedo. “It’s an honour to be part of a sci-fi franchise that promises to be as original and ground-breaking as Ice Planet does. Creatively, it’s the perfect canvas for a successful mobile game.”
The RPG game, which will integrate storylines from the show, features the show’s leading actor Michael Ironside. It is scheduled for release in July, to coincide with the series’ pilot.
