AdMob has received a $15 million investment after a series B financing round, reports MobileIndustry.biz.
The financing round was led by Accel Partners, with AdMob’s previous investor Sequoia Capital also contributing. AdMob plans to use the funding “to develop new solutions that will make it easier for advertising customers to leverage mobile.”
“Mobile Advertising is exploding as advertisers of all types learn to leverage the mobile medium,” said Rich Wong of Accel Partners. “We’re excited to work with AdMob and believe that the AdMob platform and unique international footprint are ideally positioned to serve publishers and advertisers in mobile, and set the direction in this dynamic market.”
AdMob serves ads in over 160 countries and works with more than 1200 publishers. They served 1 billion ads during the last six months of 2006 and 600 million in this year’s first two months.
