
The Jury of the International Mobile Gaming Awards has picked 6 winners out of the 26 nominees from the US, China, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, India, the UK, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Spain, Poland, Sweden and Australia.
The 2006 edition of the IMGA showcased new game types such as outdoor, location based gaming, high-end 3D, massively multiplayer games, and games that connect from your handheld to your PC or TV.
Topping the bill was Triangler by TNO, which walked away with the Grand Prix Award. Triangler also won the Most Innovative Game Award for its use of GPS in gaming.
Poland’s IKS Mobile received the award for Best Use of Flash for its game Crazy Matches, while Firemint’s Mega Monster got the award for Excellence in 3D. The Best Interactive Experience Award was given to SuperHappyFunFun for their game 3DTiltAWorld, and Anino Mobile’s Anima Wars received the award for Best Use of Connectivity.
In addition to the monetary prizes each of the winners will also receive support from IMGA’s sponsors, which include Adobe, Nokia, nVidia, and Texas Instruments.
