Mobile entertainment cautiously predicted to hit $76bn

Juniper Research has cautiously predicted that the mobile entertainment market will see profits of US $76 billion dollars by 2011. According to MobileIndustry.biz, this jump will be fueled by games, as well as music, TV, sports, gambling, adult content and a growing Asian market. Currently valued at $17.3 billion, “The face of mobile entertainment is expected to change significantly over the next five years as next-generation mobile services continue to be rolled out around the globe and take up steadily increases,” commented Bruce Gibson of Juniper Research. The predictions are cautious, however, as many mobile technologies are unproven and legislation could make the market go either way.
