Personally, I’m not all that familiar with the dispute between TeleCommunication Systems Inc. and WiderThan but the dispute seems to have been settled.
TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (TCS) announced that it has agreed to settle the patent infringement claims brought against WiderThan Americas Inc. in July 2006 as well as WiderThan’s counterclaims against TCS. Neither party admitted any liability in connection with the settlement.
According to a press release by TCS, the US District Court in Richmond, Virginia, will be asked to issue a final order of dismissal. Mobile 365 Inc. is not part of the settlement agreement.
WiderThan is a leading provider of integrated mobile entertainment solutions for wireless carriers. Its applications, content and services enable wireless carriers to provide a broad range of mobile entertainment, such as ringback tones, music-on-demand, mobile games, ringtones, messaging and information services, to their subscribers.
TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (TCS) produces wireless data communications technology solutions that require proven high levels of reliability. TCS provides wireless and VoIP E9-1-1 network-based services, secure deployable communication systems and engineered satellite-based services, and commercial location applications, like traffic and navigation, using the precise location of a wireless device.
