Mobile Gaming Testimonials

IndiaThe Times of India has posted an article filled with testimonials of mobile gaming fans. The article doesn’t say much regarding the industry but it has some funny quotes. India loves mobile gaming.

After video and Internet gaming, a trend that is fast catching up is that of mobile gaming. Whether it’s downloading the latest game on mobiles or sharing them with friends, youngsters today are warming up to the idea of getting more from the mobile than just the basics.

“Infotainment on the go, is the new buzzword in technology today,” says Vidhyut Gandhi, a student and a mobile gamer.

“Mobile games are fun and what’s more convenient is that they are a good form of entertainment that you can take everywhere,” he adds.

“Hi-tech mobiles with good picture quality and multiple softwares provide you a good gaming experience right at your fingertips,” claims Swati Dighe, a city-based software consultant.

“I travel often, and keep myself occupied either listening to music or playing games on my cell phone. Since one is already comfortable with the phone keypad, gaming is very easy,”
adds Swati.

Kids too seem to find them as a good pastime. “My seven-year-old son is a game addict and often plays on my mobile,” says Meenakshi Rathore, a homemaker.

Some of the popular games include puzzles, action-based games, 3-D games, toon games like ‘Hello Kitty’ and so on. Games based on sports too are fast becoming popular.

“Cricket games are real fun and if you are a cricket fan, you can always carry the game in your pocket,” says Vidhyut.

Most games come with a rating system like easy, medium and hard levels that can suit everyone, from people just wanting to relax to serious gamers.

Although phones need to be equipped with gaming software like Java and other necessities, getting the right software is not a problem, “Today, most phones come with inbuilt software,” he adds.

“Mobile gaming is very popular today and is going to be really big in the coming years,” says Vishal Gondal, CEO of a leading mobile-gaming company.

“Naturally, cricketbased games are popular. And, so are action games like Bruce Lee, Terminator, Jurassic park, Rambo and so on. The average gamer ranges from the age group of 15-35 years,”
he adds.
