Yesterday, I HATE GUNS! – a mobile game for Symbian-powered phones by Polish developer FUN and MOBILE – was considered Adult Content by the Handango.com software shop. I usually don’t swear but this is fucking ridiculous.
I Hate Guns! contains no dirty language, nudity, blood, gore, killing or bomb blasts! So why did they ban it? Even the title of the game suggests that the protagonist is against extreme violence. What’s even more strange is that many shooting games are still actively sold and promoted on Handango.
As a result, Handango has removed I HATE GUNS! version for 1st and 2nd edition of s60 phones from its website. However, game version for s60 3rd edition and UIQ phones is still there and Handango still sells the game through partner sites – you never know for how long.
If I Hate Guns! is going to be banned, here is a list of games on Handango.com that should also be banned:
Zombie Buster for Windows Mobile Pocket PC
There are more but you get the idea.
There is something strange going on here and I hope somebody gets to the bottom of this. I am obviously missing something so can anyone explain this to me?
