Uclick and Mobile Comics

Go ComicsWe should thank Moconews for supplying us with CTIA coverage. Although, it helps to have coworkers who don’t get themselves lost in the abyss. In an interview with Uclick, we discover their plans to release several mobile games with comic strip themes.

Uclick has been doing casual games for a long time but now they are moving onto the mobile platform. The goal is to launch 10-15 games per year. The games will be a line of heavily branded games of the strategic genre. They will pre-sell the games to carriers before production begins. Uclick’s strength lies in its comic strips for which they own the rights.

“We’re very much a brand oriented company,” said Jeff Webber, director of mobile content at Uclick. “Their brand is the brand consumers know. For 30 years our company has been the brand behind the brand.”
