I swear we’ll have our own coverage of CTIA shortly; I think Doug might be drowning in a sea of booze after his stressful panel moderation. Moconews on the other hand, has got it together and reported that there was a short speech from an mBlox rep about off-portal content at the Mobile Entertainment Summit.
He argued that “the walled garden is pretty much definitively dead.” The quote is a little confusing because how can something be definitely and pretty much dead at the same time? Maybe the quote is supposed to help people reach a state of zen. He gave an interesting figure, which is that the off-portal mobile content market is now about $60-75 million per month, and experiencing double digit growth.
