I recently found a great blog called Cheeky who have been so kind as to give a quick shout out to QuicklyBored. It is run by a developer who describes his blog as an “oaf’s inane drivel and game development fumblings.”
The post of theirs that I’d like to promote is entitled “One Pirate Squashed, A Million to Go.” The post talks about the site craze4mobilez that had thousands of pirated mobile games. After the site was contacted by various publishers and presumably threatened with legal action, he closed his pirated games section and left the note “the games section has been closed down for some reason.” Wow.
We haven’t really discussed pirated mobile games here at QuicklyBored but it is definitely a topic that should be dealt with. I’m curious what kind of affect pirated mobile games will have on the industry.
