Publisher Spotlight - Cellufun: Arthur Goikhman, CEO

If you have ever played Orion’s Belt or one of the other Cellufun multiplayer games, you’ll notice they have a clan system they call “cliques”. We asked Mr. Goikhman to tell us about this clan-like system:

Your clique is a set of buddies you tend to play with regularly. It can have different manifestations for different games. In Orion’s Belt, for instance, you may have a death match were all the players in a clique are playing against each other, or a team game, where one clique is playing against another. In MobilePet, it could be a group of people that can baby sit your pet.

Orions Belt Cellufun has done a great job so far with its Chess and Sudoku games. They are a great example of building on a basic game and creating a smooth transition over to the mobile platform. Our next obvious question is therefore, what other games are coming from Cellufun?

In the short term, our next game is an expanded version of MobilePet with extensive new features. We are also creating an entire suite of multiplayer casino games, which would have both WAP and downloadable variants. We also want to keep adding features that cross games. The example I like to use is that you may win a laser gun in a poker game that you can then use in an Orion’s Belt skirmish.

Now that we’ve introduced everyone to Cellufun, we’re hoping that other developers and publishers will take similar steps to providing users with a fun and engaging multiplayer experience. With such a platform penetration, we shouldn’t be limited in our online experiences. Stay tuned in the near future where we’re hoping to get more commentary from Arthur on how to improve the mobile gaming experience.
