Namco and G-Mode

Namco

Although the news comes late it is significant: Namco has signed a deal with G-Mode last month to distribute G-Mode games in America. Namco’s strong carrier relations make it a strategic partner. Rather than take on the incredible task of building carrier relationships for itself, G-Mode has instead partnered itself with Namco.

For its part, Namco is open to similar deals with other games publishers that may not have a distribution network in the US. “Namco Networks is always open to establishing a partnership with a company that has good games,” said Scott Rubin, vice president, sales & marketing for Namco Networks America. He went on to say that Namco is not attempting to fill any holes in its own suite of games. “Our decision to partner with other game developers is solely predicated on the quality of their games, and ultimately, our goal is to bring great games to the market and grow the industry,” he said.
