THK2 breathes fiery hotness all over the competition

THK2 was easily the best game that we reviewed. In close second was Aces Texas Hold’em. It was a close call because both games are very well done. THK2 delivered a deadly blow to Aces by having a sweet multiplayer.

THQ launches Juiced Eliminator for Mobiles

THQ Wireless has announced plans to launch Juiced Eliminator for mobile phones across Europe.

The game has been developed by Universomo, whose other titles include Gem Drop, Habbo Creatures and Gorillaz Entertainment System. It’s being launched to coincide with Juiced Eliminator for the PSP.

Mobitween is Expanding

Mobitween, a Paris-based mobile games developer, has announced that it is ready to being expanding its games portfolio. Mobitween will be distributing these games across the US and Europe. Mobitween specializes in the development of flash games for the mobile platform.

The company has some good prospects such as implementing network play (yea!), SMS billing (dang) and try-before-you-buy games (good for whack games).

Glu Launches Insaniquarium Deluxe

Another virtual pet screams for help

Glu Mobile has announced the launch of Insaniquarium Deluxe. So far, the game has been a success. The game has already received a lot of praise when it launched in North America in April. The colorful casual game will be available to Europeans at the beginning of July.

Tamagotchis Are Back

Tamagotchis are coming to mobile phones. Bandai is reintroducing their top-selling virtual pet which is now in its third version after more than 10 years on the market.

If you don’t have a pet and there is an empty portion of your soul that needs filling, then you are in luck. Tamagotchis require so much TLC that you’ll feel bad for leaving your phone in your pocket. With the Tamagotchi mobile game, your phone will remind you to check in on your pet, feed it, put it to bed and basically everything else that a little critter needs.

Ozura Launches Multiplayer Hold’Em

Mobile entertainment publisher Ozura Mobile has announced the launch of Texas Hold’Em Poker for mobile phones.

The game will have three types of betting structures: Structured Bets, where bet amounts are predefined, pot Limits, where maximum bets depend on the amount of money in the pot, and no Limit, where players can raise the stakes as high as they choose. Let it be known that QuicklyBored does not view any poker other than ‘no limit’ as real poker and Texas Hold’Em is the true poker.

Mobliss Gets A Healthy Shot of Nintendo


Jim Merrick, former Nintendo executive and games industry veteran, has been appointed president and CEO of Mobliss. Mobliss is a Seattle-based mobile messaging, gaming and content delivery company.

Merrick will oversee all Mobliss operations, including game licensing and development. Mobliss is best known for helping American Idol with its text message voting system. They are also responsible for the mobile games Family Feud, The Price is Right and the New York Times Crossword.
