No news on whether Gameloft will provide special glasses
In a quick and dirty interview with Modojo.com, Eric Albert, Gameloft’s Director of North American Operations, revealed the plucky company’s plans for 2k6. The focus? 3D and 3G.
“In 2006 we’re going to put a greater emphasis on 3D content. 3G phones are much more mainstream than they were 12 months ago. Last year 3D was very niche. We’ve also seen that even though the number of these devices in the marketplace is much smaller than lower-end handsets, their content consumption is much much higher.”
This announcement makes Gameloft the latest in a long line of mobile companies voicing entirely different conceptions of where the industry is headed. It’ll be fun to watch and see which companies are right and which fall flat on their ass.
